Off to Rhode Island

We are leaving for Rhode Island tomorrow for Ted and Anna's wedding! The kids are super excited...so am I because I've never been there! The only thing that brings a little anxiety is the plane ride...Z isn't going to like staying put for more than 10 minutes. We have tons of things to occupy him as well as many snacks. I just keep thinking, "It's only a few hours and it's only temporary!" Anyway, I just wanted everyone to know that I wouldn't be blogging for a little while since we will be sight-seeing in RI! Have a great week and I'll be blogging later=0)

Ainsley's Last Day of School

Today was Ainsley's last day of school so we had a picnic lunch and a little ice cream party. The kids sang a little song for us and then we just played and visited. It was really nice!

Ainsley getting her yearbook and her t-shirt
Sporting the T...looks like she's grown a little since I took it to school!
Z enjoying the slide
Singing "Grandma Moses"
The little ladies...Ains, Helen, Brianne and Lynnea
Ains and Ms. Tammy
Z wearing a hard hat he found in the classroom
What a year! I can't believe how quickly it went and that Z will be doing it for the first time next year. I think he'll be just fine=0)...

New Subtraction to Our House

We're putting a "window" in the kitchen to open it up more and let in more light. We would like to do the adjoining wall as well but it is a load bearing wall so we thought we'd practice on this wall first!

It was a pretty messy and tedious job but Mike got it done in one weekend. It is framed too...which we don't have pictures of yet...but it is ready to be mudded (not sure if that's really a word!) and taped. The kids love it! Ainsley uses it as her puppet stage. She gets on the couch in the living room and pops her hands up in front of the window like she's the puppeteer! Z, I'm afraid, would just like to go through it...he's such a climber. I'll post the finished pics when we get it done.

Black and White

I really like the look of black and white photos so I've been taking them lately and thought I'd share a few them.

Ains and Z reading quietly...so nice!

Yum...Cupcakes!

Mike made cupcakes the other day so I gave the kids one after they ate lunch...Zechariah didn't quite know what to do with it but it didn't take long for him to figure it out!

I think by the end of lunch even my mom had some frosting on her nose. Ainsley takes after her Aunt Liz (she LOVES frosting) liking off the frosting and then giving me the cake part.
