New Dinner Ideas

I guess my dinners are getting a little boring because this happened at the dinner table last night=)

I Can SEE!!!

I couldn't stand it any longer and had to do something about Dylan's hair! I tried a few weeks ago but I was afraid he would get hurt since he won't sit still. Today, on the other hand, I figured as long as I went slow and took breaks, we'd be ok. I forgot to take a BEFORE picture but his hair was almost to his nose!! Since I can't use a barrette or a clip to put it back, the scissors had to come out.

He looks like a completely different child now! I have to admit that he definitely has "business upfront" but there might be a very small "party in back" going on. I really don't think I can make the back straight so I will just let that go for now=)

An Upgrade

I've decided to trade in my van for this 1968 M35A2 military transport vehicle. I need a little more room for the kids and all their stuff!
Just kidding! This actually belongs to my brother. He brought it by on Saturday so the kids (me and z!) could see it up close and personal. He uses it down at the lake to give people rides and occasionally pull people out of the sand (who thought they could handle it!) He recently replaced the engine and was headed to Lowes to purchase some wood to redo the seating in back. I have to say, this thing is pretty awesome!

This might be a drawback, besides the gas factor, being that I tend to have a lead foot=)

Thanks, Mike for bringing it by so we could see it...next time, we're going for a ride!

The Trap

Ainsley's class has a pesky leprechaun that has been hanging out in their classroom so we built a trap to see if we could catch him!
We cut a hole in the top of a shoebox and filled it with tissue paper. Then, to attract the leprechaun, we nestled a pot of gold in the middle of the tissue paper. When he tries to take the gold, he will fall inside the box.
We left him a "shamrock" to climb up to the top of the box with little bits of gold leading to the pot.
And of course, we didn't want him to get hurt so we gave him a soft landing complete with food to eat! Yes, that is Ainsley's soccer jersey...I made her switch it out for a green washcloth this morning in case we didn't get the project back before Saturday's game!
I have a shamrock plant that I was given when I went away to college (yes, I'm amazed that its still living too!) and I was going to cut some for the trap before we left but I forgot=) Just glad we didn't forget the project!
