Z's Stitches

Last week Z fell in the living room and split his chin open. It was quite an adventure and he was so brave throughout the whole thing! He ended up with 7 stitches and had 5 of them removed on Monday. The other two had to be left in for a few more days because of how much you move your jaw when chewing and talking etc. This morning he got the last 2 stitches removed and has quite a scar...his pirate scar he calls it!! Last week he got this delicious cookie from the family to help him feel better:)

Walt Disney World Trip

Last week we visited Walt Disney World for an entire week! It was a lot of fun:) A little hotter than I thought it would be in October but much more enjoyable then, say...August!
here are some pics from the trip...some a little out of order:)

heading to our gate to fly out
Part of the fam on the monorail...Z, Gibby, Papa, Anna, Aubrie, and Ted
 crazy criminals
Mike and Dylan after the hula at Ohana's
 Ains and J
 the beach at the Polynesian
waiting in line for the Winnie the Pooh ride
 the carousel
Mike, J and Ains below us on the Astro Orbitor
Pretty sure this one is self-explanatory:)

this one is bunny because Dylan is showing Jasmine the food in his mouth. she told him that Apu sometimes does that too!
Cinderella's Castle before the Wishes fireworks show
our friend the tree frog who caught a ride on the monorail. Anna caught him in her Starbucks cup and let him go at our next stop

J and Marie...one of her favorites and the only cast members that she posed with besides the Princesses, who look like real people.

catching up to do!

Sorry about my blogging lapse! I am going to try to be better about more regular updates so don't quit coming to visit!

Balloon Fiesta is here!!! LOVE this time of year:) We haven't made it to the field yet but ABQ Aloft started the Fiesta off last week with some balloons at Ains and Z's school. It was really neat because one balloon invited classrooms to help "deflate" the balloon by rolling on it. Z's class helped out and J got to be a kindergartner for a few minutes.

My Little Spies! They get prizes for sending in Box Tops as part of a "Secret Agent" promotion at school. If you have any Box Tops, we'd love to have them:)
My latest diaper cake for a friend who is due in a few weeks. I sometimes think I should be doing this on the side. Maybe when the kids are a little older!

Public Service Announcement

Be very careful with playground equipment, no matter what it's made of! Dylan burned both hands and his elbow last week while playing on the plastic slide at his preschool. I knew the equipment got warm but I never imagined it would burn someone. PLEASE make sure you check how hot the equipment is before you let them play and remember that we have built up tough skin over the years...they have very delicate, sensitive skin. What feels fine to you may burn them!!!  We think (since no one really saw it happen) that he also had someone on top of him so he was not able to get his hands off the slide once he realized it was hot.
He was seen at the urgent care and twice by his pediatrician's office. He has a slight infection in his right hand and is now on antibiotics to clear it up. His teacher did some research and was surprised to find out that when the temperature outside is just 80 degrees, some plastic play equipment can reach temperatures of 160 degrees!! Please BE CAREFUL!

So Long, Diapers!!

For the last month and a half, the Plowman household has not bought a single package of diapers and I can't tell you how thrilled we are!! We have been buying diapers for almost the last eight years so this is HUGE for us:) Dylan is still learning and it's a process but I'm just happy to be done with the D's!!
