Be very careful with playground equipment, no matter what it's made of! Dylan burned both hands and his elbow last week while playing on the plastic slide at his preschool. I knew the equipment got warm but I never imagined it would burn someone. PLEASE make sure you check how hot the equipment is before you let them play and remember that we have built up tough skin over the years...they have very delicate, sensitive skin. What feels fine to you may burn them!!! We think (since no one really saw it happen) that he also had someone on top of him so he was not able to get his hands off the slide once he realized it was hot.
He was seen at the urgent care and twice by his pediatrician's office. He has a slight infection in his right hand and is now on antibiotics to clear it up. His teacher did some research and was surprised to find out that when the temperature outside is just 80 degrees, some plastic play equipment can reach temperatures of 160 degrees!! Please BE CAREFUL!

That is so awful! I am so sorry. It makes me so sad to see his little picture. I hope he heals quickly
