Happy Endings

Yesterday evening the kids were playing out in the courtyard when the ice cream truck went by...first one of the season!! (you would never know that we had almost 2 inches of snow on Sunday!) Anyway, by the time I grabbed money out of my purse and got outside, he was all the way down the street, turning the corner. I knew he'd make it around the block and stop not too far from the house so we all sat on the curb. We anxiously awaited his return listening to the happy chiming of him passing by one street over! The kids were clapping and smiling as he pulled to a stop at the sign, paused a moment and went on....in the opposite direction!! It was heartbreaking but more for Ainsley than the others. Like mother, like daughter! (what can i say? we love our ice cream!) After a few tears and some reassurance that it certainly wouldn't be the last time we'd see the ice cream truck, we laced up shoes, slipped on sandals and headed out to run some errands...one of those being frozen yogurt at Menchie's:)
