So we headed to the park this morning before it got too hot. I had asked Ains about 3 times if she needed to pee before we left and, of course, she didn't need to. Note to self...quit leaving the house without her at least trying to go potty. Anyway, as you can guess where this story is going, we aren't at the park more than ten minutes when she comes up to me and says, "Mommy, don't get mad at what I'm about to tell you." I said, "Do you have to pee?" Her answer was yes. Well, I remembered (not that I was thrilled about the idea, but it was better than going home) that there was a porta-potty around the corner so we headed over. After carrying Z, so we could go faster, while pushing J in the stroller, we came upon the empty spot where the porta-potty should have been. I guess they only put it there when they have soccer games on the weekends....how nice! At this point Ains tells me she can wait but I know that won't last long. On the way back to the park, I spot a nice brick wall enclosed area that is pretty private and I figured I could block her pretty well with the stroller too. Well, I got her in the squatting position and she got stage fright. She said she didn't need to go that badly and that she wanted to swing some more. I know, why didn't I just go home and come back since we weren't that far? Well, you see, it takes me a good half hour to get all three of them sunscreened, hats on, shoes on, rounded up in the car with snacks and drinks so I wasn't going home and coming back. Plus, I wanted Ainsley to understand that this is what happens when I ask her if she needs to pee and tell her that there won't be a place to do it once we get there. Well, we run into a friend from Ainsley's class and she of course forgets she has to pee anymore. She's good for about 10 minutes and then I catch her doing the pee pee dance. We end up leaving but not before a major meltdown because she doesn't want to leave now. Boy, this summer is going to be a long one!

Oh gosh, isn't that just the worst, when you finally get where you were going and they have to pee and there is no where to go. It is easier with a boy, but we both have 2 girls now, so it is going to be a problem!!! Ugggh. I feel your frustration Amber. Sounds like you have a fun summer planned. That's exciting that Liz is getting married! My brother Andrew is getting married on July 11th. It'll be a special summer. Love you and miss you.
