The day was not kind to Zechariah and his noggin. These pictures really don't show how beat up he is but they kind of give you an idea. The first noggin incident occurred in Ainsley's room where Zechariah likes to play in her denim chair. His routine is to climb in it, turn around and throw himself onto her fuzzy green rug...must be a boy thing. Anyway, somehow he ended up going sideways and catching his head on the bed and its nice metal frame (see second picture-it's the big purple splotch next to his nice blue vein!).
Next came the attack of the linoleum. Z was zooming across the kitchen floor and his arm gives out so face meets fake floor. This can also be seen on his cheek in the first picture.
Finally, he misses the trunk in the living room and his upper right eyebrow area breaks his fall on the tile entryway. For those of you that don't already know, the sound a kids' head makes when it hits the floor, door, wall, tub, or head of a sibling is far worse than the actual mark it leaves. And as you can see by the last picture (taken minutes after meeting the tile floor) kids aren't as fragile as you might think and a bath fixes just about anything!
Basically Zechariah is one giant bruise and I'm told by other moms of boys that it is standard operating procedure. I can remember Ainsley not getting a bruise until she was almost two...not because I babied her and didn't let her fall or "explore" but because I truly think boys are just a lot more rambunctious than girls. They like to climb things and then jump off those things without a thought to what happens next. I hear that my first trip to the emergency room for some stitches is coming up in the next year....super!

Poor little guy. Sounds like he's a monkey already. Yep, Gabi isn't near the climber or adventurer that Emilio was already at this age. I think once in a blue moon a girl will prove you wrong, but mostly I think it is a BOY thing!
